Muscle building

For proper muscle building, in addition to exercising, you must consume appropriate amounts of protein, as you must use amino acids to make actin and myosin, among other things.

Muscle fibers

Both the enduring red muscle fibers and the fast white muscle fibers can get bigger through exercise.

  • Endurance

In order to endure physical strain over a long period of time, you need to do light physical work for long periods of time. This will train the slow (red) muscle fibers so that the muscles become better at doing work of this type. A long run trains especially the red muscle fibers in the legs.

  • Strength and speed

The white muscle fibers cannot work for a long time at a time, but can do a lot of work for a short time. They are strong and fast. Sprint training and jumping training are types of training for the white muscle fibers in particular. It is especially this type of training that gives big muscles.
